GET YOUR SPOOKY ON AT THE 2016 NYC VILLAGE HALLOWEEN PARADE!

The spookiest day of the year is here folks! It’s officially Halloween! So what better way to celebrate the scary day than with a Halloween-themed parade! This year marks the 43rd annual New York City Village Halloween Parade. Elvis Duran of the nationally syndicated z100 Elvis Duran and the Morning Show will be “Grand Marshal” of the parade. In the past, Village Halloween Parade Grand Marshals have included Kelly Ripa, Whoopi Goldeberg, and the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World,” Jonathan Goldsmith.
Each year, the hugely popular New York City Halloween parade marches down 6th Avenue North of Spring Street to 16th Street. The 2016 parade will include 53 bands playing various styles of music, puppets, dancers, artists and thousands of regular New Yorkers sporting their best Halloween costumes. In order to march in the parade, you must show up in full costume. Otherwise, you can enjoy the festivities from the sidelines. Either way, it’s sure to get you into the Halloween mood!

This year the Halloween parade theme is “Reverie.” As explained on the parade’s website, Reverie refers to, “that liminal space in which one creates.” If that sounds confusing, you’re not alone! Check out the parade website for more details on the theme and parade festivities.
The 2016 Halloween parade will start at 7pm and end around 11pm. If you can’t attend the parade in person, you can catch it on NY 1 at 8 – 9:30 pm.
This year Halloween falls on a Monday, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to get your spook-tastic party on! If you’re looking for more adult-themed Halloween fun, there are a few parties you can attend in the city. Check out the list below and make sure to RSVP!
